Birth of the company which starts on the markets in France, with Gaëtan GRIECO and his family.
The success is there: opening of the first shop in VALLEROY, near METZ, in Lorraine, while continuing the rounds on the markets.
The 2nd shop was opened in FAMECK (in Lorraine), in an E.Leclerc centre.
Creation of the first offices in Valleroy.
The openings accelerated with a frequency of 2 to 3 shops per year.
During the 1990s, the brand evolved and finally became CHAUSSEA.
A first shop opens in ESCH-SUR-ALZETTE (Luxembourg).
Acquisition of the RENO France brand, 12 shops, and its 50 employees. CHAUSSEA has 36 shops.
Acquisition of the CHAUSSURAMA brand, 20 shops and the takeover of its 80 employees.
CHAUSSEA has a total of 98 shops!
Takeover of 82 MULTI CHAUSS shops. More than 330 employees join the group.
CHAUSSEA doubles its size to 182 shops.
CHAUSSEA passes the 200 shops.
CHAUSSEA launches online sales.
A first shop opens in ROCOURT (Liège).

The 300-store mark is passed.
Near Metz, the logistics warehouse doubles its surface area to 52,000 m2.
Takeover of 17 BRANTANO shops in Luxembourg and Belgium with 120 employees.
CHAUSSEA continues to grow with its 3,000 employees and nearly 400 shops.
Takeover of 128 "La Halle" shops. More than 700 employees join the group. CHAUSSEA becomes the leader in footwear in France.
